Start the Eviction - Step 1

This first step in the eviction process is serving the tenant with a 5-day notice for nonpayment of rent. We strongly recommend that you use our downloadable form for several reasons. It complies with the Rhode Island Statutes. If you do not use a 5-day notice that complies with the Rhode Island Statues you could lose your case on this technicality. You may even have to start your case over and worse pay your tenants legal expenses. Once you have properly executed your 5-day notice you have finished Step 1.
